About Amy

Kia ora, ko Amy tōku ingoa.
My name is Amy Watts, founder of Hauora Sanctuary.

Born and raised in Tauranga Moana, I am of Ngā Puhi and Ngāti Hine descent. My work is deeply grounded in connection — to people, to whenua (land), and to holistic wellbeing.

After many years as a qualified and registered kaiako/teacher, I felt called toward a slower, more intentional way of living. That journey led me to the countryside, where I began restoring a once run-down piece of land and bringing Hauora Sanctuary to life — a space created to support rest, healing, and reconnection.

Alongside this journey, I completed a Certificate in Organic Horticulture, further deepening my passion for sustainable living and the healing relationship between people and nature.

Holistic practices and self-care have long been part of my life. With a background in martial arts including karate, boxing, and kickboxing, I understand the importance of balance, recovery, and caring for both body and mind.

I am a qualified Holistic Massage Therapist with training across multiple holistic modalities. My work draws on holistic massage, Reiki, breathwork, nature, and intuitive healing practices to support nervous system restoration, grounding, and reconnection.

Nature has always been my sanctuary, and it is a privilege to now share this space with others.

I look forward to welcoming you to Hauora Sanctuary.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”
